Hazard Map Website

The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. Where personal data is collected, this is always done on a voluntary basis. This data is treated strictly confidentially and neither sold nor passed on to third parties.

Hazard Map App (iOS)

The iOS application «Gefahrenkarte des Kantons Bern», available in the Apple App Store, operates fundamentally without collecting personal data. Personal data is treated strictly confidentially.

Cookies

No cookies are used or transmitted when using the app. It cannot be excluded that third-party plugins (e.g. Apple Maps) may use cookies.

App Authentication

To display the overlay on the map, the app authenticates with the server. On first launch the app requests an authentication token. When issuing this token, the server stores:

  • The device-specific manufacturer ID
  • IP address
  • Operating system name (e.g. iOS)
  • System version
  • Device model (e.g. iPhone)
  • Number of requests
  • Date and time of last request

Log Files (App)

When the app accesses the server, our provider automatically stores:

  • IP address
  • Time of server request
  • URL of the requested map tile

Log files are stored at Metanet AG, Josefstrasse 218, 8005 Zürich.

Encrypted Data Transmission (App)

Communication between the app and server uses connection encryption (SSL/TLS).

Apple Maps (MapKit)

The app uses Apple Maps as the base map. We refer to Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww/.

Feedback Function

When you submit feedback via the app, your data is transmitted as an email to our ticketing system and stored there for processing purposes only. The data is not passed on to third parties.

Right to Access, Deletion, Blocking

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data as well as a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data.
